The Wehrmacht jetpack infantry is an advanced and experimental elite infantry squad equipped with a jetpack and a flamethrower. The jetpack infantry is able to jump long distances, enabling it to traverse otherwise impassable terrain, jump over objects, or avoid engaging enemy units.

Although jetpacks are now considered more a novelty item than anything else, they were originally researched for military purposes in the 1960s. Starting in the 1970s an urban legend began to spread falsely claiming that Nazi Germany had investigated the idea even earlier, in the form of the experimental "Himmelstürmer" apparatus to provide soldiers with a means to quickly bypass obstacles like minefields, waterways, or defensive fortifications.
