Kharkov-Rampager

The Kharkov-Rampager is the massive super-heavy tank of the Soviet Red Army.[1]

Background[]

Real world history[]

There was no project quite like the Kharkov in the real world. It is similar to a beefed-up T-35 Heavy Tank, but the USSR was not interested in multi-turreted designs after their dreadful failure during real-world use.

In the game, after the Turning Point, the Soviet vehicles were nearly decimated by the Allied and German forces. The catastrophic outcome of the Battle of Berlin, gave the incentive for Comrade General Stalin to address the general assembly and discuss the next generation flagship of the Soviet ground forces; the Kharkov superheavy battle tank.

Twenty Shermans or any of the other known enemy tank is hardly a match for Kharkov, state of the art weaponry. Its equipment includes one 120mm main, two 85mm secondary and two 75mm tertiary turrets. The Kharkov is supported by a next-generation servo system, an advanced dual power plant, an experimental engine system, and reinforced tri-steel armor.

Among its major contractors are industry giants; Korolev Engineering, Aurora Dynamics, Ural Mining Corporation, People's Camp of Siberia, and the Volkov-Tupoljev Industries. Where Kharkovs are deployed, they quickly put an end to any conflict. They serve as defenders of the Soviet people and the vanguard of the Soviet Motherland.

The Kharkov is a monster, but advanced weapons like the Ice Spitter or Sonic tank can deal massive damage to it. They will need support though. Elephant tank hunters are also very effective. The Allie's Lightning can use its special attack to deal massive damage to the Kharkov. Bombers or Exoskeletons also cannot be denied. Finally, the Giant zeppelin can also silence this mighty giant.

Trivia[]

  • This tank seems to be based on the Soviet T-35 Land Battleship.
  • Multi-turret super-heavy tanks are generally considered to be extremely poor designs for real-world tanks.
  • The Kharkov's "Show us to the crowd, commander!" line may be a reference to the T-35 and Char 2C's use as a propaganda-piece during the war.
